Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born 26 March 1991 also known professionally under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho which was her first EP released on the Dreamville Records label. The album was released when she gained her first recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox published her first songs online in the year 2012. She released the single Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the internet including her independently launched single Bound. In 2015she sung in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album in the track Sweat It Out on the 21st of July. J. Cole, who was a part of the Dreamville team at the time was interested in having her work on Rihanna reference. It was announced on December 8th, that she'd made an agreement with Dreamville Records. She appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 2016, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared on the track Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July, 2018. A music video followed by a music video in September. She released her second single Grampa on the 9th November. She then released on November 13 two new singles titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. She was featured with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in November 16, and then made the track available as a solo single for her debut album. The track was accompanied by a music video in February 20, 2019, and it surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December 2018, she performed as part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
